WRESTLE STRONG DOJO EVENT RECAP – MARCH 23, 2025

Penrith Gaels Club once again played host to an unforgettable night of wrestling action on March 23rd, 2025, as the stars of Wrestle Strong Dojo delivered one of the most competitive, passionate, and unpredictable events in our company’s proud history.

From championship stakes to interstate clashes, career-defining statements to chaotic post-match declarations, this event had it all. As General Manager, I’m proud to say this was a night that showcased exactly what WSD stands for — heart, competition, and the strongest wrestling in Australia.

Let’s take a look back at everything that went down.

OUR OPENING CONTEST

WSD Heavyweight Champion Dean Draven def. CJ Young Match Time: 12:30

We wasted no time getting right into championship action, opening the night with WSD Heavyweight Champion Dean Draven defending his title against the dynamic CJ Young.

CJ gave a spirited performance, pushing Draven to his limits with speed, determination, and a never-say-die attitude. But the veteran champion once again proved why he sits atop Wrestle Strong Dojo’s mountain — securing the victory in a tightly contested 12-minute bout.

Draven remains dominant, but CJ continues to grow, proving himself worthy of big-match spotlight.

TAG TEAM COLLISION

Alistair Fleming & The Mammoth Torrent def. Aragon & Domino

Match Time: 19:25

In one of the night’s longest and most physical encounters, Alistair Fleming and the monstrous Mammoth Torrent took on the unpredictable pairing of Aragon & Domino. The match was a war of endurance and brute force, with Torrent’s power and Fleming’s cunning eventually overwhelming their opponents.

But it was after the match when things got truly heated.

Grabbing a microphone, Alistair Fleming made a bold proclamation to the Penrith crowd:

"I am the best fighter in the history of Wrestle Strong Dojo. I should be the Number One Contender to the Fighters Championship — and at the Holy Gaels Cup, I’ll prove it."

As GM, I had no choice but to take this demand seriously — more on that later.

INTERSTATE CHALLENGE

Johnny Hardwood def. B-Lars

Match Time: 11:36

Representing the Queensland wrestling scene, Johnny Hardwood made his WSD debut against the eccentric and ever-entertaining B-Lars; another Queensland native.

Hardwood brought intensity and precision to the ring, grounding B-Lars’ chaotic offense and securing a strong first impression with a clean victory. WSD fans took notice, and so did the locker room. The question now is — will Johnny Hardwood and B-Lars be back? and if so.... when?

CONTENDER CONFLICT

Chris Stevens def. Scott Justice

Match Time: 18:24

Before this match began, both Chris Stevens and Scott Justice made their cases to be the #1 Contender to the WSD Fighters Championship.

Justice reminded fans he was due a one-on-one rematch after losing the title, while Stevens challenged that if he could beat Justice clean, he deserved the shot.

The match that followed was an all-out battle — technical, fierce, and deeply personal. In the end, it was Chris Stevens who walked away with the win, staking a strong claim to the next title opportunity… but the story wasn’t over yet.

JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CONTENDERSHIP

Zachariah The Messiah def. D-Pak Sharma

Match Time: 10:01

In our Semi-Main Event, the #1 Contender spot for the WSD Junior Heavyweight Title was on the line as Zachariah The Messiah took on D-Pak Sharma in a fast-paced, crowd-pleasing encounter.

Zachariah's momentum was undeniable, and after a tightly fought contest, he secured the victory and earned himself a future title match against Sahara. With both competitors operating at such a high level, I can promise fans — when that match happens, it will be must-see.

GM ANNOUNCEMENT: FIGHTERS TITLE SHOCKER

Just before the main event, I made an announcement that shook the Penrith crowd.

With so many valid claims being made, I decided to throw out the politics and give the fans what they deserve — a definitive showdown.

On May 18th, at WSD: Holy Gaels Cup 2025, the WSD Fighters Championship will be defended in a Four-Way Elimination Match between:

  • CJ Young (Champion)

  • Chris Stevens

  • Alistair Fleming

  • Scott Justice

No shortcuts. No interference. Just four of the best fighting it out until only one remains. This will be a landmark contest in WSD history — and it will happen in just a few short weeks.

MAIN EVENT – MIXED TAG TEAM ACTION

Mystic Nation X (Mystic Jessie & Sahara) def. Freya Fury & Hilly Monroe

Match Time: 14:20

In our Main Event of the evening, we saw an electric clash of champions and contenders as Mystic Nation X  — made up of Mystic Jessie (one-half of the WSD Tag Team Champions) and Sahara (WSD Junior Heavyweight Champion) — faced off against WSD Women’s Champion Freya Fury and the Queensland's Hilly Monroe.

The match delivered in every sense — high energy, tight teamwork, and intense rivalries. The chemistry between Mystic Jessie and Sahara proved too strong, as they picked up the win and continued their dominant run through the WSD ranks.

IN CLOSING

Thank you to everyone who packed the Penrith Gaels Club on March 23rd. The passion, noise, and energy you bring every time pushes our wrestlers to be better and fight harder.

All eyes are now on the WSD Fighters Title and who will walk away with the glory and honour of being the Undisputed Fighters Champion, and with the annual Holy Gaels Cup Battle Royal on the horizon stay tuned as next time I will run through all 10 competitors to this match.

Until next time —

Stay Strong, Stay Fearless, Stay Dojo.
