Winter Slam marked a historic night for Wrestle Strong Dojo as we made our long-awaited debut at Rosehill Bowling Club—and what a debut it was! A packed house, passionate fans, and a stacked card brought the energy that defines the very spirit of WSD.
Let’s run it back, match by match.
Opening Contest: Scott Justice vs Johnny Hardwood
We kicked off with “The Prodigal Son” Scott Justice taking on Queensland’s Johnny Hardwood, who had no problem running his mouth and riling up the Rosehill crowd. But in the end, the only thing louder than Hardwood’s insults was the roar of the fans when Scott scored the win.
Pete Morgan Arrives
Fresh from Melbourne, The Dangerous Pete Morgan stepped into a WSD ring —and made his presence felt. With pure disdain, he mocked our Rosehill faithful and vowed to take the WSD Heavyweight Championship home to Victoria. Bold words from a dangerous man… but actions speak louder.
The Grudge Match: Aragon vs Domino (w/ Stevie Mac)
This one was personal. Former friends, former partners—Aragon and Domino finally collided, with The Sensational Stevie Mac lurking at ringside. After their shocking betrayal at The Holy Gaels Cup, Aragon was out for revenge—and he got it. With grit and fury, Aragon picked up the win. But Stevie had the last word, promising that "The Spectacular Stable is just getting started." This General Manager has concerns for what this means for the WSD Community...
Gauntlet Match – Jr Heavyweight Mayhem
The competitors in this one included:
Torrent
Ludo Jareth
RJ Lightning
Zachariah the Messiah
Sam Huxley
Stryker
Things kicked off with the powerhouse Torrent dominating early, eliminating Ludo Jareth—but not before Ludo hit a low blow that turned the tide. RJ Lightning and Ludo connected with tandem 619s that left Torrent reeling, and RJ finished the job with a sharp DDT.
Zachariah the Messiah was next, and in classic fashion, he eliminated RJ with The Rapture. Melbourne’s Sam Huxley dazzled the crowd with aerial flair but couldn’t put away the Messiah. Finally, Stryker arrived with the heart of a lion, but even he fell after a hard-fought exchange. Zachariah the Messiah wins the Gauntlet and heads into Winters Tension looking unstoppable.
Singles Match: Ranger vs Doomslayer
The promising Ranger took on Tasmania’s behemoth Doomslayer in a physical showdown. Ranger proved he’s more than just potential—surviving a war and finishing the job with a Stomp-Frog Splash combo to pick up one of the biggest wins of his young career.
WSD Women’s Championship: Mystic Jessie (c) vs Kyza (w/ Stevie Mac)
Mystic Jessie, the newly crowned and record-setting 3-Time Women’s Champion, was ready for her first title defence… but things didn’t go to plan.
Jessie battled fiercely against a resurgent Kyza—formerly Natalya King—who entered with a new attitude and a new manager: Stevie Mac. The match was an instant classic until chaos erupted. Just as Jessie locked in the Crossface, Freya Fury stormed the ring, ambushing both women. The match was thrown out in a no contest.
Then Freya made her intentions clear: At Winters Tension, she and Aragon—together known as TSU—are coming for the Tag Team Championships held by Mystic Nation X (Mystic Jessie and Dean Draven). The message was loud and clear.
Main Event: WSD Heavyweight ChampionshipDean Draven (c) vs “The Dangerous” Pete Morgan
Two bulls collided in a main event that was as brutal as it was brilliant. Pete Morgan lived up to the hype, taking Dean Draven to his limit with vicious strikes and massive slams. Draven answered with his own unrelenting offence—including the devastating Killing Zone.
In the end, The Pantherine stood tall once again, retaining the WSD Heavyweight Championship in front of an electric crowd.
Post-match, Draven extended his hand. Pete Morgan’s response?
“New South Wales sucks.”
And with that, he walked away.
Winter Slam was a night to remember, and Rosehill Bowling Club welcomed Wrestle Strong Dojo with open arms and thunderous energy.
We’ll be back.
Next stop: Winters Tension.
Rivalries are heating up. Titles are on the line. And you never know who’s going to show up.
Stay Strong. Stay Wrestling.
