This week I’ve been excited to sit down with someone who’s been making waves within the Wrestle Strong Dojo community, he is the winner of the 2025 Holy Gaels Cup – Zachariah the Messiah. Whether it’s through hard work, standout performances, or a unique perspective within the squared circle, I want to bring a plethora of guests here to discuss their journey, what drives them, and what we can expect from them next.
I opened our discussion asking Zachariah about his winning of the 2025 Holy Gaels up, how it shocked the WSD Community, as well as going through his former tag team partner, Ranger.
“Brother Hellering, The Messiah has the Answers for you, you see when the Messiah first made himself known to the wrestling world, he pointed out that DB Robertson had failed to fulfil is duty as Hero of the People when he fell to injury shortly after claiming title of First Holder of The Holy Gaels Cup. This is not a slight on The Blue Roo, it is a fact. I announced that it was my destiny to fill the void he left behind, and that is exactly what The Messiah has done. That satisfaction, Brother Hellering, feels righteous.
As for Ranger, he is my training partner, a close friend, and ultimately my greatest rival. He has defeated me in the past, but at the Holy Gaels Cup it was The Messiah’s time for victory. Ranger remains a good boy, just not as good as The Messiah.”
We understand wanting to fulfill your role as “Hero to the People” when The Blue Roo wasn’t able too, now, speaking of Ranger, that finishing move of yours – The Unprettier - that was brutal hitting it on the ring apron was there any hesitation facing someone you once called a brother in arms with the Bosh Boyz?
"Firstly, that is no mere “Unprettier”, that is The Rapture - my modified Unprettier. It is a sacred move and it shall be addressed as such. When hitting that move on Ranger, The Messiah felt no hesitation. You see, Brother Hellering, Ranger and I have an understanding that holding back on each other would do nothing but disadvantage the growth of the other. You may notice that the only reason that The Messiah was able to perform The Rapture was because Ranger attempted a move he had never attempted before - a second rope curb stomp - and to the apron no less.
The Bosh Boyz was time while it lasted, but after losing their only match as a duo, and when the Junior Heavyweight Championship Gauntlet came up shortly after, Ranger and I knew that we may soon face each other, which we did, and agreed to be focused on our singles careers for now."
We have that noted for the commentary team moving forward, and respect that level of respect between yourself and Ranger. I have to say, you’ve had a resurgence in recent months — what’s changed in your mindset or training to bring out this dominant version of Zachariah the Messiah?
"When Ranger couldn’t compete against Sahara for the Junior Heavyweight Championship at Bathurst, I believe it was destiny that gave me that opportunity to take his place. The sinful Itchee cost me that destiny, as sinners are often known to do. He will face his Divine Punishment someday soon.
Meanwhile, Sahara has remained so embroiled in her feud with The Spectacular Stable on behalf of Mystic Nation X, that she has not once defended that championship in her over 100-day reign. My motivation is in seeking to right the injustice that is her title reign and save Wrestle Strong Dojo by giving them a new, deserving champion, who will face any and all comers. We have an influx of Junior Heavyweights coming up through the Dojo, a few you’ve already seen - Ludo Jareth, RJ Lightning, Jack Normandy - these men all deserve a goal to strive to earn. I vow to you, Jack Hellering, a match against The Messiah for his title will soon become the very thing our roster fights for."
This General Manager will never be opposed to seeing championships defended, and giving a goal to rest of a division, I know for a fact I cannot wait to see the clash of Zachariah the Messiah and Sahara! Now Zachariah, with the Holy Gaels Cup in your possession, you now have a serious target on your back. Your next big match up will be against the Jr Heavyweight Champion Sahara, what are your thoughts heading into this match?
"Sahara, you are the only equal I see in our division. You are a brilliant wrestler and an even better role model for our audience. However, you did not win our match in Bathurst without the treachery of the envious Itchee. That man has, unfortunately, tainted your win.
On June 29th, we will see who the true Champion of the Junior Heavyweights is. Had you focused on your responsibilities as champion, and ignored the petty squabbles of stables, perhaps I would have supported you. Perhaps The Messiah would have considered you a friend. But you did not. You chose to wear that title like an accessory, and now it falls on me to take it from you, and give to it the reverence it deserves."
Wise words from the Messiah – Zachariah I want to thank you for your time today; good luck with your upcoming matches; a Gauntlet Match at Rosehill Bowling Club June 28th 2025, and your match against Sahara June 29th at Penrith Gaels Club.
Until next time —
Stay Strong, Stay Fearless, Stay Dojo.
